In fact, allergy is not a disease at all. It is

simply a change in the physical symptoms, which can be overcome with the right treatment. Aromatic substances, pollen of flowers, dust mites, odor of petrol or kerosene oil, mildew, pain relief pills, etc. come under this category. All these factors have been termed as allergens, which, when they enter the body, stimulate the production of allergic substances. There is a reaction between the antibody produced and the antibody already located in the body. As a result of this reaction some harmful chemicals are produced in the body which cause allergy symptoms. Antibodies, which are primarily allergens, are specific to the antigen that produces them. They are present in the gamma globulin portion of the blood. When these antigens and antibodies interact, they release chemicals called histamine and serotonin, which cause problems such as body temperature control, breathing problems, and skin rashes.

There are different types of allergies which include:

Causes of Allergies

When your immune system mistakes a normally harmless substance for a dangerous invader, allergies begin to appear. The immune system then produces antibodies that alert to that particular allergen. When you are exposed to the allergen again, these antibodies can release several immune system chemicals, such as histamine, that cause allergy symptoms. Some common allergy triggers include:
⦁ airborne allergens, such as pollen, animal dander, dust mites, and mold
⦁ certain foods, especially peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, eggs, and milk
⦁ insect stings, such as from a bee or wasp
⦁ Medicines, especially penicillin or penicillin-based antibiotics
⦁ latex or other substances you touch that can cause skin allergies
⦁ Some irritating substances like smoke, diesel, petrol, perfume, etc.

Allergy prevention

Avoidance of allergies is the best treatment, so follow these measures to avoid allergies-
If you are allergic, first of all, find out what things you are allergic to. For this, carefully watch your food and lifestyle.
⦁ Don’t let there be dirt around the house.
⦁ Let more and more open and fresh air come into the house.
⦁ Stay away from the smell to which you are allergic.
⦁ Do not go from very hot to cold and cold to hot environment.
⦁ Wear a handkerchief over your mouth and nose while riding a bike. Wear good quality sunglasses on your eyes.
⦁ Wash mattresses, quilts, pillow covers and bed sheets from time to time with hot water. Keep the quilts, mattresses, blankets etc. exposed to sunlight from time to time.
⦁ Stay away from plants that are allergic to pollen grains.
⦁ Do not allow spider webs etc. in the house. Keep cleaning from time to time.
⦁ Avoid dust and dirt. If you have to work in a dusty environment, then work wearing a face mask.
